Keep On-Campus Radio alive and support Independent Radio
KDVS is a student-run, freeform radio station that broadcasts music, talk shows, sports, and news to the greater Sacramento area from our Davis studio. We are proudly a part of the media units of ASUCD. We have been preparing to move to a different location on campus due to the demolition of Lower Freeborn Hall, which has housed our station since 1967. Our current home has met all our needs and more. It keeps our extensive record and music ephemera library preserved, spanning the generations of underground subgenres and progressive artistry.
While KDVS alumni have made their mark on the station, the station ebbs and flows with the times, yet still captures a familiar ethos established by its predecessors.
Our goal for a successful relocation is to support the creative endeavors of radio hosts, while maintaining the community engagement and alternative charm that makes KDVS unique. To make this vision a reality, the station depends on community support and donations. These contributions help us purchase essential radio equipment, such as headphones, microphones, turntable needles, and more.
Your gift will help facilitate KDVS’s move to a new home, allowing our students and community members alike to continue broadcasting and creating freely. Your gift will also enable staff to pursue exciting projects for KDVS, such as our ongoing archive plan, which strives to document and maintain the station’s rich history. With a new studio space, we will be able to undertake all this and more.

Your gift of $10 will help us purchase essential audio equipment that we use daily. From headphones to turntable needles. You will also get a shout out on our social medias.
Your gift of $25 will help us print physical copies of our much-loved zine KDVationS. You will also get your name on our next edition of KDVationS.
Your gift of $50 will assist the projects taken up in our recording studio. Sports, news, and music production all share this space. You will additionally have your name shouted out on air.
Your gift of $100 will support your favorite show on KDVS. If the show is still active, the host will give you a personalized shout-out on their next show.
Your gift of $250 will go to the construction of the new record library. You will get to play a playlist of yours live on air.
Your gift of $500 will fund a full day of programming. You will also be invited to record a station ID in your voice, and all the benefits listed above.
Your gift of $1000 will maintain our 13000-watt tower, which reaches from Sacramento to the Foothills. You will get your name forever cemented on a plaque to be placed in the station, and all the benefits listed above.
