Champions Adapt: A Seven Day Giving Challenge

The fall at UC Davis is traditionally a time of incredible anticipation, renewed feelings of energy for the coming year, and sights and sounds of athletics activities all over our campus. While we are adjusting to the worldwide pandemic, our focus and goals are in no way diminished, and the 2021 UC Davis Gymnastics future is bright. While we may have to change how we conduct business in the short term, Aggie Gymnastics is preparing to be as competitive as ever.

The 2021 Aggies will be led by captains Kyla Kessler and Shanae Oishi. We have a talented and accomplished group of returners, including All-MPSF honorees Alyssa Ito, Kelley Hebert, Gabby Landess, Cortney Cunningham, Logan Clagg and Rachel Schuelke.  These proven performers combined with our newest Aggies – Isabella Fitz-Gerald, Anna Holtan, Marisa Laird, Kaitlyn Lyle, Emma Otsu and Nandhini Senthil --  will make for an exciting season and propel our program to new heights.

Like the generations of Aggies who have come before us, we are looking for opportunities in this challenge we currently face. We refuse to be still during this break, and we choose to do what champions would…we will adapt. The Champions Adapt Challenge (#ChampionsAdapt2020) is all about maximizing our potential and sprinting out of the gates when competition resumes. Like all champions, we know this will be a team effort, and you can be a big part of our team.

The week of October 12-18 was scheduled to be Homecoming week on campus, one that brings alumni back, old traditions out, and a full slate of home athletics events. With the loss of traditional revenue streams this year from associated events, we are forced to adapt to generate support for our program. Instead of pep rallies and tailgating, we will be on our phones, our email, and on social media spreading the word about the Champions Adapt Challenge.

Our program seeks your financial support now, and we have set a fundraising goal to achieve during this week-long effort. Please join us as we adapt to the opportunity presented to us, where we can position ourselves to be champions. Your gift in support of Women’s Gymnastics through the Chalk Box during this campaign and make a world of difference today to set us up for when we do return to the gym. Every dollar contributed will go directly and exclusively towards UC Davis Women’s Gymnastics.

Your generous donations will directly impact our student-athletes’ experience. Our amazing student-athletes strive for academic and athletic excellence, and your contributions will help them perform in the classroom while training and competing at the highest level. Your support raised through the Chalk Box program will help us retain a travel schedule that allows us to compete at the highest level and support our ability to maintain state-of-the-art facilities.
