Bring an infinite-length object 3D Printer to UC Davis

Expanded Description:  The UC Davis TEAM lab wishes to fund the development and manufacturing of a 3D printer with a single-axis of infinite length.

The UC Davis TEAM lab, provides 3D printing (and other advanced manufacturing technology) services to the UC Davis campus, primarily for research purposes.  The lab features an array of commercial 3D printers (over 17 different machines at the time of posting), each with the common limitation of having a limited build envelope.  This constraint has been a challenge for several large-scale projects that have passed through the lab in the past.  With your help, we'd like to design, manufacture, and build a conveyer-belt-based 3D printer (derived from open-source designs) that has the unique advantage of a single axis of infinite length.  This feature would afford UC Davis researchers and students who leverage the facility more design freedom in their efforts.  Once completed, the machine would be accessible to UC Davis Faculty, Researchers, and Students (as part of their educational and entrepreneurial activities).

Your donation will help support the BME Team and our goal to develop and manufacture infinite-length object 3D Printer.
