The Women’s Resources and Research Center works collaboratively with other campus units to support parenting students holistically, including their social, emotional, financial, and mental wellness. Through offering programs designed to build community, advocacy efforts, and support services, we seek to make higher education more accessible for our students with families.
Student parents navigate many barriers to completing their education, including access to affordable childcare and housing, as well as managing their time as parents and students. Additionally, student parents are more likely to hold other historically underrepresented identities, including being students of color and low income. In spite of these challenges, our student parents are incredibly resilient and inspiring.
Your gift will go toward efforts to support our student parent community, including the Student Parent Closet that provides diapers, wipes, and other supplies, welcome baskets for expectant parents of Little Aggies, and programming like the annual Family Fun Night that brings families together on the Quad for a night of community-building, complete with bounce houses, face painting, and book giveaways for kids. It will help the Women's Resources and Research Center expand current offerings to parents, such as replenishing our student parent closet.
Your gift of $15 can cover items like 1-2 brand new books for children of parenting students, or a month’s worth of baby wipes.
Your gift of $25 can be used to purchase items for a welcome basket for a new student parent (including a Lil Aggies onesie) or a backpack and school supplies for one child.
Your gift of $50 can purchase a month’s worth of diapers, 5 children’s books, or 25 packs of crayons for kids art kits.
Your gift of $75 can be used for items like a new stroller, a tablet, or 10 science kits for kids.
Your gift of $100 can cover the cost of diapers for a child for 2 months, a brand new carseat, or 10 children’s books.
Your gift of $150 can purchase a baby stroller, 15 children’s books, or go toward a stipend to support student parent’s educational expenses.
