Support the Inaugural Integrative Genetics and Genomics Retreat!

We are graduate students in the Integrative Genetics and Genomics (IGG) Graduate Group at UC Davis who are raising funds to co-create and hold our first ever off-campus IGG Retreat. We are coordinating and organizing this event in active collaboration with IGG Faculty in order to help advance our research, scientific communication skills, as well as expanding our networking and career opportunities.

The IGG graduate program is highly interdisciplinary and unites around 90 graduate students and over 100 faculty members, with national and international recognition, across 25 departments at UC Davis. IGG is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where students, faculty and staff work productively together to allow everyone to reach their maximum potential. To further this goal, the IGG Retreat will include student presentations on current research, poster sessions, mentorship and wellness workshops. Additionally, we plan to invite IGG alumni from biotech companies in the Sacramento and Bay Area and we will dedicate an evening of the retreat to career advancement and networking.

The inaugural Integrative Genetics and Genomics (IGG) Retreat is scheduled to be held in May of 2022. We have secured a beautiful but modestly priced location at the Black Mountain Retreat Center in Cazadero,CA. We have an active and engaged IGG Student Executive Committee (in collaboration with faculty leadership) that is committed to organizing an energizing and morale-boosting event.

Your donation will be essential to making this retreat a reality. Even though IGG as a graduate program has been around for several decades at UC Davis, we have, as of yet, been unable to hold an off campus retreat due to limited funding, unlike similar graduate programs. We had been organizing to hold the IGG Retreat in 2020, however due to the pandemic, the event had to be cancelled. We hope the 2022 IGG retreat will allow IGG to come together, promote community spirit, foster active collaborations and further career advancement. Your gift will support the Integrative Genetics and Genomics Graduate Group, including our current plans for an IGG Retreat in 2022
