The Champions Achieve Challenge

Hello Aggie Gymnastics Community,

            We are so excited to return to training, competition and in person classes in 21-22! After a year like no other, UC Davis Gymnastics is back in the gym and looking to reach new heights like never before.   There will be many new faces when we once again take to the competition floor, but rest assured that UC Davis Gymnastics has not stood idly by during the pandemic. Team members have continued to not only stay in shape but have worked to be more competitive in the future. We will have 2 classes of new faces as last years exciting incoming class was not able to compete. The combination of our newest Aggies and our outstanding returners gives UC Davis Gymnastics great expectations for the 2021-2022 season.  

            Though there were no gymnastics meets this past season, the Aggies once again proved that they are just as competent in the classroom. The team posted an all time high 3.44 gpa for the year, and set another record having 10 Aggies earn the prestigious Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches Association – Scholastic All American Award by maintaining a gpa above a 3.5 for the schoolyear. The Aggies continue to put in the effort in classroom! And perform well above the student body average.

            With the new season of Gymnastics we also start a new year of fundraising. While the gymnastics team did not set any new records in the gym last year, our gracious donors elevated our fundraising to an all time high raising a little over $58,000. This amazing generosity has allowed us to replace several old pieces of equipment in both our competition gym and Hickey gym as well. Most notably we will soon be getting new foam for our competition floor as well as our practice facility. This $19k project is made possible by the generous contributions of our many donors.

            As we kick off the Champions Achieve Challenge for this year, we are our hoping our existing donors will once again get their hands in the chalk tray and support our amazing student athletes. We also hope to encourage many new donors to UC Davis Gymnastics. Our ongoing level of success in both the gym and the classroom is proof that with your support there is no limit to Aggie Gymnastics successes.
