Aggie House: Supporting Students Experiencing Housing Insecurity

Thank you for considering Aggie House!

Nearly 1 in 5 students at UC Davis experience homelessness or housing insecurity at some point during the year, according to the 2017-2018 ASUCD-GSA Housing Affordability and Insecurity Survey. This striking statistic has inspired the creation of Aggie House, a student run, volunteer based registered student organization (RSO) on campus that operates a transitional housing shelter that opened in Fall 2021 for UC Davis students. Aggie House is hosted in a 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom townhouse in partnership with Cal Aggie Christian Association on Russell Blvd. Modeled closely after existing student shelters at UCLA and USC, Aggie House offers a completely free transitional housing program to provide residents with shelter, food, case management services (focusing on financial and housing education), and community to allow students to thrive in studies, well-being, and finding permanent and stable housing.

Your donation will be used to support our students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. By utilizing your funds to ensure our students are well fed, warm, in a safe environment, and able to study without the stress of not knowing where to go, we are able to promote an atmosphere of academic and professional development and success. As a student run nonprofit organization, we rely on generous donations and grant money to ensure that our students are well taken care of. Thank you for considering Aggie House and making a difference in students' lives! Please feel free to share our project with other donors and find more information at aggiehouse.org!

To further emphasize the importance of students helping fellow students, Aggies Helping Aggies (AHA) is facilitating a Senior Class Challenge by collaborating with Aggie House on this Crowdfunding project. AHA is comprised of students who are helping build a culture of philanthropy on campus, and the Senior Class Challenge is an opportunity for students to leave a legacy on campus. We’re asking that students consider giving $20.22 to honor this year’s graduating class. Click here to learn more about the Senior Class Challenge.”

$10

Facility Supplies

We will be responsible for ensuring our students live, sleep, and study comfortably. Funds will be used towards purchasing one-time cost items, such as bed frames and mattresses, sheets, a dining table and chairs, cooking supplies, and more!

$20

Household Supplies

We will need to constantly keep an abundant supply of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, and of course, disinfectant wipes and sprays. With many residents living in one area, supplies will run out quickly and it is important we always have enough of these supplies to ensure all are living in a clean and comfortable space.

$30

Groceries

Aggie House will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day to all 10 residents and both volunteers staffing. Grocery funds are essential to ensure our students are well fed and ready to take on each day of classes!

$100

Move-out Supplies

At Aggie House, we want to help residents transition to new housing as smoothly as possible. Your donation will go directly towards supplying our residents with new sets of bedding and academic supplies to ensure their success in a new space.

$200

Residents

As residents transition from our shelter to permenant housing, Aggie House would like to provide our residents with transition funds to help pay for their first few months of rent. Your donation will go directly to helping them successfully transition to permanent housing!
