The UC Davis Triathlon Club challenges athletes from all levels of fitness and experience to compete in an endurance race composed of swimming, cycling, and running. At the end of the race season, members of our team are selected to compete at the Collegiate Club Triathlon National Championships. Last year, in Lake Lanier Islands in Buford, Georgia, our women's team placed 7th and our men took 17th, for a combined 11th place finish. This year we need your help to get our incredible triathletes to Nationals at the Lake Lanier Islands in Buford, Georgia.
Members often join the team with a background in a single discipline and must learn to train and purchase gear for two additional sports to be ready to race. Our team partners with several sponsors to help our collegiate triathletes obtain the needed race nutrition, wetsuits, cycling gear, and uniforms at a more affordable cost. We also have a bike rental program, for new athletes to participate in our group rides without dropping thousands of dollars on a new bike.
But in order to get to Nationals, we need flights, bike transport, and a hotel to get our team across the country. The pandemic has driven travel costs up and we want to reduce the price barrier for our athletes so that both new and experienced members can get the opportunity to experience elite racing. Our dedicated members have been preparing to compete all year while balancing schoolwork, jobs, and other commitments on top of 7-12 training sessions, but we can't get all the way there without your help!
Please support the UC Davis Triathlon Club and our travel needs, so our triathletes can show the nation what we're made of. Go Ags!
