Support For Pre-Health Students And Alumni

Will you help a pre-health student achieve their dream of serving others? Health Professions Advising (HPA) assists thousands of undergraduates, graduate students and alumni pursuing any health profession or allied health field. HPA advisors use a holistic approach to provide support and feedback during academic and application preparation, encouraging proactive and reflective career decision-making.

For those aspiring to become physicians, dentists, nurses, and veterinarians, the path to a professional school can be intimidating and overwhelming. As over 40% of undergraduates at UC Davis are first-generation students, HPA fills this gap by helping students build a personal network to support them on their journey to becoming a health professional.

Students come to HPA for individual advising; test preparation; application guidance; personal statement development; sponsored road trips to professional schools; and much more. Last year, HPA provided over 8,739 advising appointments to 3,245 students.

This month marks the 20th annual Pre-Health Conference at UC Davis. The largest event of its kind, this conference hosts up to 3,000 participants and provides attendees a unique opportunity for direct contact with deans of admission, admission officers, financial aid officers, faculty, and staff from a wide variety of health professional programs and other organizations.

Gifts to our crowdfunding campaign will be directed to a variety of needs within our program: individual advising; student networking events; road trips to professional schools; and much more.
