ECLIPSE Rocketry

ECLIPSE Rocketry is a student run engineering club that competes in the annual NASA USLI competition. For this year’s competition we need to:

• Design a rocket capable of flying between 4,000 to 6,000 ft
• Develop a payload that is capable of autonomously receiving RF commands and performing a series of tasks with an on-board camera system
• Construct and fly a sub-scale rocket as proof of concept and simulations
• Write and format multiple professional engineering reports throughout the process and give presentations to a panel of NASA experts

Previous payload projects include developing a self-locating system without the use of GPS, a lander with photographic capabilities, and a sample collecting rover. Each year, we have successfully launched and retrieved multiple rockets. ECLIPSE will continue to learn and grow this upcoming year with your help.

Your donation will help ECLIPSE reach its goals and provide the team with necessary equipment for doing so. More than that, you will enable passionate engineering students to continue their dreams of becoming rocket scientists. The students who do partake in this process will gain invaluable skills in multiple areas such as, professional writing, hands-on manufacturing, team work, and time management. ECLIPSE alumni have benefited from these skills and club connections by being hired at aerospace industry leaders and pursuing higher degrees.
