We are a club that builds a debate environment for students to participate in the debate activities and learn the professional knowledge to be a mature debater. Debating skills can hone communication, public speaking, presentation, and preservation skills while promoting the discussion of a wide range of business, international, philosophical, and ethical issues in today's world.
We want all the students who are passionate in communication, international relations, law, business, management, social studies, and even who just want to make new friends in the splendid debate on campus to have a good chance to enhance their horizon in those fields they like and be more competent in their speaking skill.
Debate can make one speak with a more rigorous logic and structure, which benefits everyone with various backgrounds in their daily communication, job interview, and coordination with colleagues. We wish there will be an energetic power on campus to lead the debater to explore the truth they believe in different corners of their life during the debate process.
In the debate, everyone will build more tight relationships between each other after finding their shared values in communication with professional debate logic. Therefore, we would like to hold workshops and social activities to help students practice professional debate skills and enjoy debating about different topics in their spare life. Students will learn debate in a way that will not make them stressed and feel debate as a natural part of their life instead.
Our ultimate goal is to lead the debaters to join in the official debate competitions outside the campus to win honors for themselves and UC Davis. Please support the Debate At UC Davis club!
Your gift of $10 contributes to the coffee and snacks for the students to relax during their debate social on campus.
Your gift of $50 contributes to the materials in debate practice workshop like training handout printing, debate textbook purchase, and snacks for students to relax in the workshop.
Your gift of $100 contributes to the travel fares like gasoline, van rent, and meals for students to hang out and practice debate in nature like ancient Greek philosophers and find more debate topics hidden in the world
Your gift of $500 contributes to the flights and other travel fares for students to participate in the official debate competitions in other cities and campuses to win honors for themselves and UC Davis!
