Nearly 1 in 5 students at UC Davis experience homelessness or housing insecurity at some point during the year, according to the 2017-2018 ASUCD-GSA Housing Affordability Survey. This striking statistic inspired the creation of Aggie House, a student run, volunteer based shelter for UC Davis students experiencing homelessness or unstable living circumstances.
Aggie House rents a 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom townhouse, located across the street from campus. Modeled closely after existing student shelters at UCLA and USC, we host 10 residents at a time, offering rent-free housing, meals, and case management for up to one year. Our student-led structure creates a welcoming community where residents thrive both socially and academically. As our residents transition into stable housing throughout the course of year, we continuously welcome new students to our program.
Your donation will be used to support our residents via a variety of resources and services that we provide every day of the year. This annual crowdfunding event ensures that our students are well fed, warm, safe, and able to study without the stress of unstable housing. We rely completely on donations and grants to fund every part of our program, so a gift of any amount will go to such things as: housing, food, and other necessities to keep this shelter running.

Your donation of $5 provides all 10 Aggie House residents breakfast for a day! Residents can pick up bananas, muffins, coffee, and more before heading to class.
Your donation of $25 replenishes necessary household items such as cleaning supplies, complementary toiletries, menstrual products, and school supplies.
Your donation of $50 will go toward replacing old furniture and appliances. For example, we intermittently replace desk chairs, mattress pads, linens, dishware, rice cookers, etc.
Many housing shelters close very early in the morning, accentuating stress, fatigue, and other barriers for their residents. Your $100 donation pays for one week of daytime volunteers, so our house can remain open later and residents can safely sleep in and feel truly at home!
Your generous donation of $500 provides a one-time stipend to residents who moving out of Aggie House and transitioning into permanent shelter! This funding can cover rent, groceries, furniture, and other necessities, ensuring that our residents can safely get back on their feet.
