Support the Society of Manufacturing Engineers at UC Davis

Society of Manufacturing Engineers at UC Davis (SME @ UCD) is a student-run, non-profit club that aims to promote manufacturing engineering among students who are interested without any financial barriers. This year, our chapter is holding a Digital Manufacturing Challenge, where students would design a product to address natural and man-made disasters, and many industry tours that we will take students to in California. With your contributions, we can afford to support the design teams to finish their projects in their best efforts and take students to many manufacturing sites. The more funds we have, the more teams we can motivate and trips we can host.

In the past years, we have had students participating in the Sandia Additive Manufacturing Competition, which had dozens of UC Davis students submitting projects annually. We also took students to industry tours like DMG Mori and RobbJacks.

Before students dive into the projects, many would need to use the campus equipment to build their products. In order for students to use the Engineering Student Design Center on campus, students must go through mandatory training, and be charged registration fees. To further make students' experience financially barrier-free, we want to make sure students that come from all income backgrounds have the ability to have access to this.

Every generous donation will greatly help the club set a higher bar for more students.

$10

1/2 Membership

Your donation of $10 will help pay for half a student's membership to the national SME organization.

$25

3D Printer Filament

Your donation of $25 will help pay for 3d printer filament. The club likes to host nights where students get to use our 3D printers. This donation will help keep those nights running.

$50

Industry Tour Cost

Your donation of $50 dollars will help fund one student's cost for an industry tour. SME believes that industry tours can help students get a deeper look into the manufacturing field.

$100

Manufacturing Award

Your donation of $100 dollars will help pay for the monetary prize of a competition that SME will be holding. This competition will allow students to create their own designs and compete with others.

$250

3D Printer

Your donation of $250 will help pay for a new 3D printer. As the club is expanding to more members, the demand for equipment is higher and more 3D printers would make the process of project manufacturing more efficient and faster.
