Support Aggie Propulsion Lab

Founded in Spring 2022 Aggie Propulsion Lab (APL) is a student-run team that aims to design, build, and test liquid rocket engines. Despite being relatively young we are already one of the most ambitious teams on campus with 30 dedicated members who are determined to spearhead the development of propulsive systems at UC Davis. We firmly believe that project-based learning is the most effective way to get a complete and intuitive understanding of engineering processes. Liquid propulsion is especially well suited to do this. It is a immensely complex challenge spanning many disciplines such as fluid mechanics, combustion chemistry, engineering design, metal manufacturing, and so much more! It will bring out the best of our efforts and push the bounds of our knowledge.

Our team is composed of space enthusiasts who grew up with stories of the Apollo missions and witnessed the renewed efforts for human spaceflight in the recent decade. We intend to emulate this. To pursue mach diamonds, supersonic flight, and push ourselves as close to the stars as we feasibly can. We truly believe that this alone is a worthy cause.

We intend to explore and develop novel systems at an amateur level with hopes of advancing the performance which is possible at the amateur scale. We will be fully open-source sharing our design and empirical findings and data throughout this process.

$25

Stratosphere

This donation will help the team get off the ground and buy materials for our injector plate.

$50

Mesosphere

This will give a nice boost to our progress. With this we can fund the graphite nozzle.

$100

Thermosphere

This will propel the team forward with manufacturing plans. This will allow us to buy important valves for start up/shut down as well as safety This will get you a mention in our thank you video.

$500

Exosphere

This will rocket the team forward with our testing campaign. This includes sensors crucial to verification of the various components of the engine. This will get your name on our website as well as previously stated benefits.

$1,000

Space

A donation of this size shows real comet-ment. With this we can afford the piping and regulators necessary for the propellant delivery. This will get your name on our test stand as well as previously stated benefits.
