Crowdfund UC Davis thanks all of the donors who gave to this important project in February. This campaign has closed, but we are grateful for your support!
The CARE Project supports adult patients at UC Davis Medical Center by providing therapeutic services such as Art Therapy, Reiki, and Pet Therapy hospital wide. The CARE Project facilitates opportunities for self-expression, relaxation, and recreation; promoting independence and improving quality of life through evidenced-based clinical interventions and therapeutic activities. Through special events and volunteers, The CARE Project provides haircuts for patients at bedside, coordinates music performances in the lobby, celebrates culturally significant events, decorates the rooms of antepartum patients, offers support groups for visitors and patients, and more!
The CARE Project is a donor-funded program, provided free to all adult patients in the hospital. With your generous donation, you will support some amazing interventions offered to patients in the hospital, from Virtual Bingo to individual Reiki sessions, or provide essential amenities to patients in need, such as weighted blankets or bluetooth speakers. Join us in our holistic approach to healthcare as we support a person's whole being: mind, body, and spirit.
Did you know, The CARE Project partners with local licensed cosmetologists and barbers to provide 'CAREcuts' to patients at bedside? Your donation will continue to support this much needed program, helping our patients look and feel like themselves again.
The CARE Project recognizes each one of our therapy dog's birthdays during their hospital shift, along with patients and staff. Your donation will provide a dog-approved cake and toys for our dogs to enjoy on their birthday.
Reiki is a mind-body therapy which focuses energy on promoting holistic wellness through grounding and therapeutic touch. Your donation allows The Reiki CARE Program to provide Reiki at bedside to all adult patients, free-of-charge.
The CARE Project provides a weekly support group on our Oncology floor for patients and their visitors. Here, participants can step away from the bedside for a moment of art-making and socialization. Your gift will provide tea, cookies, and art supplies for this group.
Videogaming has been shown to decrease feelings of isolation and improve coping. Help us purchase a fully loaded gaming cart for our young adult patients.
