STEM for Girls invites 10-12 year-old girls and gender-expansive youth from the Woodland and Sacramento areas to the University of California, Davis for a free full day immersion into science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) facilitated through hands on workshops and interactive lab tours led by UC Davis graduate students and faculty.
About the fund
Your gifts will support the STEM for Girls fund and its mission. Our team uses the fund to provide an engaging and empowering, free, full-day STEM immersion camp for 60+ youth, many of whom come from low-income families and school districts throughout Yolo and Sacramento counties. In addition, your gift will support the funding of supplies and materials for hands-on workshops and interactive lab tours, provide round-trip transportation for 40 students and their teachers and support with ongoing training and development of Team Leaders. Any remaining funds from the STEM for Girls fund will be used to support in expanding the STEM for Girls program into a 2 day fully funded STEM immersion camp, build partnerships with new schools, and provide enhanced development opportunities for Team Leaders.

Your gift will ensure that STEM for Girls can continue to grow and serve our communities by providing a day full of science that opens minds and empowers youth! We ask for your support in giving generously what you can.
Though a small subatomic particle, a proton's positivity can make a big difference! Your gift of $25 will help create a positive change and can be used to print Team Leader training packets, support in the purchase of administrative materials such as tape, paper, markers, etc., or support with the maintance of our snap circuts systems.
Trust us, everything adds up to awesomeness in the end! Thank you for being a part of our equation! Your gift of $50 can be used to print participant assessment/activity packets, support in the purchase of supplies for our ice cream making surprise at the end of the day, or support with snacks for 2 teams of 10 students (everyone needs fuel to get through the day!).
It doesn't matter what programming language you use -- your generosity is not lost in translation! Your gift of $100 can be used to purchase 2 Snap Circuts for the engineering workshop, provide lunch and snacks for 5 participants, or support with providing breakfast for our early morning set-up volunteers.

Your gift of $250 can be used to provide food for our awesome volunteers, sponsor an interactive tour, or support with resource packets and activities to send home with all the amazing teachers that attend as chaperones.
It might be about the little things, but this is a big deal and we do not need a microscope to see how much you care for STEM for Girls! Your gift of $500 can be used to fully fund background checks for 18 Team Leaders, supply 4 engaging STEM workshops with all the materials they need to inspire young minds, or provide funding for the liquid nitrogen we need to make ice cream at the end of the day.
You are literally getting us to the moon, just like Katherine Johnson helped NASA! We cannot do this without you! Your gift of $1000, can be used to provide round-trip transportation for 2 schools, breakfast and lunch for Team Leader training, STEM for Girls shirts for 60 students, or stipends to 2 graduate/undergraduate student planning committee members.
