Crowdfund UC Davis thanks all of the donors who gave to this important project in February. This campaign has closed, but you can still support our program by making a donation.
Awarded primarily to high-achieving, first-generation freshmen from California, Chancellor’s Achievement Award scholarships ease the financial burden on students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to focus on their studies and acclimate to a demanding university setting.
Some 42 percent of UC Davis’s undergraduates are the first in their families to attend college, contributing to our No. 2 ranking nationwide among public universities that contribute to upward social mobility.
These scholarships have made all the difference to hundreds of deserving students like Ammara Afzal ’24 (pictured below). She is a cell biology major and first-generation college student who dreams of becoming a surgeon. “I want to save people’s lives in the operating room and bring relief to their families,” she said. “I know it requires a lot of time and hard work, but I am committed.”
Your gift to the UC Davis Annual Fund supports Chancellor’s Achievement Award scholarships as well as the Chancellor’s Fellows program. It also allows the chancellor to fund areas of emerging urgent needs or opportunities.
Recipients can use their scholarships to to purchase much needed lab materials.
Scholarship recipients can focus solely on academics, and worry less about covering living expenses.
