Since the 1970s, the ASUCD Community Garden has been likened to a “small sanctuary,” with UC Davis students and community members alike connecting in nature by growing, learning, and working together. Though it may seem like a normal garden, our Community Garden is way more than just a place to grow fruits and veggies.
As one of the Basic Services units of ASUCD, we are committed to taking care of people in every way we can. Our garden serves a variety of needs outside of just gardening. On any given day, you can find classrooms of children observing the gardeners, Davis students picking up affordable, organic food, or even a garden party laden with fresh produce!
A large part of our garden’s success is reliant on a supply of tools our gardeners use to maintain their plots. Our tool shed is a well-loved fixture of the Community Garden, holding all of our most essential gardening tools. We are hoping that, with your aid, we can renovate our beloved tool shed.
Your gift to the ASUCD Community Garden would help revitalize the shed, mainly by increasing its size and structural integrity to better support the ambitions of our spirited community gardeners. We want to maintain this space for many future generations of Davis gardeners. A renovated shed means we can welcome more gardeners, beauty, and growth in the Davis community.
