The Biomedical Engineering Society (or BMES) at UC Davis plans events where future biomedical engineers can meet each other, network and explore the growing biomedical field. As a club, we are asking for your support in order to make these events happen.
Every year, we host a MakeAThon where students put their skills to the test in a 48 hour competition to design a medical device solving a specific issue using CAD. This is an excellent enrichment opportunity for peers to bond and learn from each other, as well as put classroom skills to use outside of the classroom. Throughout the year we also run outreach events where we use fun, educational activities to show younger students the possibilities of biomedical engineering. Finally, we would like to host field trips for our members to see what the industry looks like.
We are asking for your support in order for this club to run and host these events. BMES makes a huge impact on getting students involved in biomedical engineering outside of classes and your donation will help make that positive impact possible.
Club membership gives students access to all UC Davis BMES events. Your gift of $20 will pay for one student’s BMES membership.
MakeAThon is where students gain and develop their engineering skills. Your gift of $30 will pay for a student’s participation in our annual MakeAThon.
Your thoughtful donation will pay for a field trip to a biotech company where members will be able to get a glimpse into the industry world of biomedical engineering.
A gift of $75 will allow us to buy the materials needed to lead engaging outreach activities with students.
Your generous donation of $100 will contribute to recognizing students’ accomplishments in our annual MakeAThon competition.
