The UC Davis Center for Regional Change (CRC) is a catalyst for collaborative and action-oriented research that is grounded in social and environmental justice. We bring together multi-disciplinary campus partners and multi-sector community partners to explore and address topics that transcend jurisdictional boundaries.
The CRC uses these strategies to achieve our mission:
Donors to this fund help the CRC to engage community partners as study participants, project advisors, and research partners. Numerous barriers exist to community participation in research including a lack of funding for participant incentives, stipends, and recognition - many of which cannot be provided through traditional research funding. Without addressing these barriers, community members may be disincentivized or unable to participate in research that has the power to shape their community for decades to come.
The CRC prioritizes closing these barriers to participation in research and improving inclusivity. We can be successful when enough funds are available to accommodate the needs of community partners. Your gift will support the Center for Regional Change and its current goal to raise money to address barriers to participation in community-engaged research.
Help us to purchase refreshments and gift cards to support engaging community members in research activities such as focus groups and town hall events.
We like to make our trainings and workshops with community partners FUN as well as educational, so we need facilitation supplies that include everything from markers to giant sticky walls to legos and play doh!
We help to coordinate community advisory boards that provide input to local, regional, and state policymakers on everything from affordable housing to transportation equity to environmental justice. Donations help us to pay stipends to advisory board members that may not be available through other sources.
We work with amazing grassroots leaders in community development, youth health and wellbeing, land use, and environmental justice - and work to elevate voices from historically marinalized communities. Donations help us to pay honoraria to community leaders who present at our webinars and conferences.
